Mitsubishi released details for your i-MiEV Evolution, ahead of it's racing debut on the Pikes Peak International Slope Climb.
First, the Mitsubishi i-MiEV Evolution utilizes the same motor, drive battery power and other major elements as the production i. Moreover, it was coded in order to highlight Mitsubishi’s advanced EV control along with EV component technologies.
The actual i-MiEV Evolution is a purpose-built closed-cockpit all-wheel-drive single-seater constructed on a tube-frame chassis which has a carbon-fiber cowl. Mitsubishi said your prototype racer use many of the same EV drive components as the creation i-MiEV, which is sold in the U.S. since the Mitsubishi i.
The i-MiEV evolution uses three power motors: one for the front two added wheels, and two for each raise wheel. Pair this particular all-wheel drive with the car’s light-weight aerodynamic body and you can see how serious Mitsubishi is taking this.
The three motors produce 240 kW (322 horse power) directly to the 245/40R18 wheels. The standard i-MiEV rides about super skinny 145/65R15 four tires up front and 175/60R15 out and about back and only makes 49 kW (66 hp).
